Here the vegetation is sparse, dotted with lonesom Here the vegetation is sparse, dotted with lonesome, thorny shrubs and Argan trees awaiting the rains that form seasonal, ochre rivers meandering past barren peaks to the terraced fields below that have been left abandoned. This is Morocco's Berber heartland, shaped by Palaeozoic rock formations that formed desert sculptures in a plethora of warm, earthen tones. The views are undisturbed, with the sun's fiery tongues bleeding into the mountains and piercing the horizon. What first appears to be barren terrain is a homage to life itself. The winding pathways are laboriously chiselled into the mountains that seem to be vying for grandeur. Amongst the brush and sweep of the winds, birdsong carries through the slender alleyways, disappearing in the window openings of the loam homes where laughter, singing and smoke culminate. …Traveling with my mind and working on something for @memori.studio_. A little interview I did on sustainable fashion wi A little interview I did on sustainable fashion with some very lovely university students from @srhberlin. I really don’t like seeing myself on camera 😆. Most of the questions would require more complex answers that are hard to provide right off the bat but I tried my best to shine some light on the issues we as consuming citizens and as an industry are faced with. The students also interviewed high street and thrift store shoppers and it was shocking to hear that almost everyone went shopping once or more a week buying multiple items of clothing. Sustainability starts with reevaluating our shopping behaviour and habits. In my mid-twenties I was no different, things were so accessible and it was fun to browse and buy. I literally had to de-programme myself. I am completely unaffected by advertisements now and buy maybe 4-5 new pieces a year from very small brands or vintage but it’s been a journey to get there. Key issues and questions: *synthetic fibres accounting for most of the fibres used in clothing today. *climate and social justice: what is a living wage? *regenerating land and treating the soil as a living being.
